Difficult conversation

On one sad, cloudy afternoon, Mrs. Livingston received a call saying that her father had passed on. She was of course very saddened, but was very worried about how she would approach telling her son  Jim Bob whom was very close with his grandfather.

(Door opens)

Jim Bob: Hi mom!

Mrs.Livingston: hello Jim Bob

Jim Bob: Have you heard from grandpa? I was supposed to go fishing with him this afternoon.

Mrs. Livingston: Well sweetheart I actually wanted to talk to you about that, I'm afraid grandpa can't go fishing.

Jim Bob: why not?!

Mrs. Livingston: Jim Bob, there's no easy way to put this but grandpa has passed on. But don't feel sad for him because he's in a better place.

Jim Bob: WHAT!? NOOOO

The two immediately start sobbing and holding each other, and the point of the dialogue is that no matter how difficult a conversation may be, it is always best to come straight out with the truth.
